Hello, I’m so glad you’re here!  For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt drawn to helping others. After exploring different paths and gaining insight through my own life experiences, I discovered my true calling in counseling. I believe no one should feel they have to struggle in silence or feel unseen in their pain. In my own therapy journey, I once heard the words, “I don’t know how to help you,” and I carry that experience with me as a reminder of the therapist I strive to be. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are—without judgment—and walk alongside you as we work toward meaningful and lasting change.

In my work as a counselor, I primarily use cognitive-behavioral approaches while integrating Adlerian theory. I also embrace the Health at Every Size (HAES) framework and believe that health encompasses far more than a number on the scale. I enjoy working with both men and women to foster a healthier relationship with their bodies—shifting the focus from appearance to appreciation for what the body is capable of. Having personally experienced disordered eating, I am passionate about helping others find hope, healing, and freedom from the constant pull of food or the mirror.

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll often find me browsing a thrift store in search of vintage treasures or enjoying a good workout—whether that’s a sweaty gym session or a run outdoors. These days, I’m also a proud homebody who loves curling up with a good book (thriller, romance, or personal growth) on the couch with my dog, Nora.

I believe therapy can be a powerful space for healing, self-understanding, and meaningful change. My own experiences with psychotherapy helped me become more self-aware, insightful, and empowered to advocate for myself and others. Because of this, I understands the importance of having a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment.

My counseling approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I bring warmth, curiosity, and authenticity into the therapy room while helping clients develop practical tools for emotional regulation, coping, self-understanding, and lasting change. I am especially drawn to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) because of its focus on validating human suffering while helping clients move toward a more values-aligned and fulfilling life. My work is also informed by trauma-informed care, strengths-based counseling, Health at Every Size principles, and my background in cognitive neuroscience.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, body image concerns, eating disorder recovery, identity development, parenting stress, perinatal and postpartum adjustment, relationship challenges, perfectionism, executive functioning difficulties, and major life transitions. I especially enjoy supporting thoughtful and reflective individuals who want to better understand themselves, their emotions, and their patterns with greater compassion and less shame.

Brandy is currently completing her practicum and internship training as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student and provides counseling services under supervision as part of her graduate clinical training. She also holds a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, which informs her understanding of emotion, stress, behavior, executive functioning, and the nervous system. Services may be available in person, virtually, or both depending on client needs and site availability.

Outside of counseling, Brandy is a wife, mom of four, writer, and lifelong observer of people. She enjoys good books, meaningful conversations, music, beauty, style, and the small moments that make life feel deeply human. At her core, she is reflective, curious, and passionate about helping people feel more grounded, connected, and honest with themselves.

Not long ago, I believed only martyrs changed the world. I followed this belief into the field of crisis work and, from there, I sacrificed myself for years in an attempt to make a change. What I didn't realize at the time though is that, although the work was important, I was robbed of my sense of peace. Worse yet, I was robbed of my hope.

The world is surely a broken place. Having to come to terms with my own trauma, insecurities, and mental health diagnoses while still working inside the mental health field was a confusing space to navigate--but only when I let myself share my burdens and allow my community to see my grief did I finally find hope again.

My own therapy journey changed my experience of the world and the people around me. In many ways, I think this is how the world heals and changes. Today, I strive to help connect others with the person who can traverse their own complicated story with them and, in doing so, change the world one person at a time.

Outside of the office, you can usually find me starting a new house project, drawing on my tablet, hanging out with my husband, or snuggling with our cat. I’m an extroverted-introvert who loves a good yap session but is also more than happy to curl up with a good book, podcast, or manga.
