Hi,
I’m Karen Mohwinkle.
tLMHC | Counselor
As a counselor, I want to offer a thoughtful, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy—supporting teens and adults who want to better understand themselves and their lived experiences. My own journey of reflection and meaning has shaped my belief: that understanding the past can open the door to greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion in the present.
Using a holistic, biopsychosocial lens with psychodynamic insight, I help clients explore how past experiences, relationships, and subconscious patterns influence their current lives. I believe healing is not linear, and I meet clients where they are, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique strengths and needs. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where increased self-awareness can lead to meaningful and lasting change.

About Me
At home, family is central to my life, and I value nurturing close relationships in ways that honor each person’s individuality. I come from a creative background and enjoy interior painting and decorating whenever I have the opportunity. Having explored many roles and life experiences, I bring a deep appreciation for the diverse challenges people face. Humor has always been an important coping tool for me, and I strive to bring warmth and moments of levity into my work so clients feel seen, supported, and at ease.
