Paying For Therapy

At Health Hope Harmony, we never want finances to keep someone from accessing the care they need.

Life is already expensive.

To uphold our values of being client and community oriented, we aim to provide multiple solutions for clients in affording our services. We do this by offering flexible payment plans, accepting a wide arrangement of insurances, employing interns with self-pay and pro-bono options, maintaining consistent communication with clients, and choosing to be understanding when life throws financial curveballs.

Choosing our office for your mental health journey means putting your trust in the hands of clinicians and staff who understand how unexpected life can be and are there to support you through every step.

We stand by this principle, not just in our therapy practices, but in the staff that continue to support our office.

We are here to help.

Common Questions

  • We agree—therapy is expensive. In order to stay fair to our clinicians and our clients, we base our rates off of multiple factors: clinician education and experience, insurance, federal and state taxes, competitive wages, and continuing education for our staff. We also have to maintain the office, including paying rent and maintenance fees.

  • HHH requires all clients to upload a credit card into their Simple Practice profile for payment. You complete this task after receiving a Simple Practice link through your email.

After each therapy session, our Practice Manager will charge any copays or late fee’s accrued directly to your card.

  • HHH accepts the following insurances:

    1. Aetna

    2. BCBS/Wellmark

    3. HealthPartners

    4. Iowa Total Care

    5. Molina

    6. Optum/United (UMR, Oscar, BindBenefits, Surest)

    7. Wellpoint (formerly Amerigroup)

  • Every insurance company is different—and so is every insurance plan.

Some plans cover therapy at no additional cost while others may offer a copay or expect a deductible to be met before covering a session.

Our Practice Manager does her best to call insurances and verify benefits prior to your appointment; however, we ask that all HHH clients call their insurance prior to attending their first session to make sure.

You can contact your insurance provider by calling the member line listed on the back of your insurance card.

  • With our licensed Clinicians:

    Intake  $188

    30 Minute Session $89

    45 Minute Session $125

    60 Minute Session $175

Family Therapy With Client Present $175

Family Therapy Without Client Present $175

    Group Therapy   $32

    With our Interns:

Self pay rate between $l0 - $25 per session

Some pro-bono options are available upon request

  • Outstanding balances happen for a few reasons: your copay got missed (oops), we had issues with your card on file, you accrued a late fee, or your insurance rates changed.

If you are questioning any outstanding balance, please reach out to our Practice Manager.

  • Before charging your outstanding balance, our Practice Manager will reach out to you via email or text to verify how you would like to pay.

Whether you are wanting to pay the balance in full or set up a payment plan, all charges will be sent to the card you have provided in Simple Practice.

  • We understand that life happens. Being part of a therapy office means we have a willingness to be flexible with our clients. If you let us know, we can work on an individual plan with you that may include pausing sessions, having shorter sessions, scheduling with an intern, pausing payment plans, or creating a payment/ repayment plan that fits your needs.

Not what you’re looking for?

A word from our Practice Manager:

“ As a social worker grad. and previous crisis worker, I’ve had my fair share of experience in the mental health field. But, as someone who has also been with their therapist for a while, I’m uniquely qualified to endorse therapy…

…and I do so wholeheartedly.

At Health Hope Harmony, my job is to help you navigate the world of scheduling appointments, understanding billing, and working through the unrelenting world of insurance. Despite trading in my crisis hat for a desk job, people are still at the core of my work, and I couldn’t be more thankful to continue building those connections at this office.

Because I love therapy and because I love people, I always want to do my best to connect with clients. I want our clients to know and recognize me so that they are always comfortable to reach out and ask me questions. Never be afraid to say ‘hi’ when you see me at the front desk. “

Send us your questions!

Counseling will make you feel things and, at the end, hopefully, help you become a better version of yourself.
