Inclusive, affirming therapy for people across Iowa—

where healing doesn’t require shrinking yourself.

Here’s How We Can Help:

Eating Disorders & Body Image

Make peace with food, your body, and yourself.

If you’re stuck in cycles of bingeing, restricting, obsessing, or body-checking, you’re not alone—and you’re not broken. At Health Hope Harmony, we help clients move from fear and guilt to freedom and compassion in their relationship with food and body.

We specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and body image distress using a weight-inclusive, trauma-informed approach. Whether you're navigating binge eating, restriction, chronic dieting, or body shame, our team provides compassionate care rooted in Health at Every Size® and intuitive eating. You don’t have to do it alone—and you never have to “earn” your healing.

We treat:

  • Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID, OSFED

  • Chronic dieting and disordered eating

  • Body image dissatisfaction and body dysmorphia

  • Emotional eating and stress eating

  • Weight stigma and internalized fatphobia

  • Support across the lifespan—teens, college students, adults, postpartum

Trauma Therapy

Therapy for when the past still feels present.

Trauma isn’t just what happened—it’s how your body remembers. We work with clients who’ve experienced everything from childhood emotional neglect to medical trauma to sexual violence.

Our clinicians are trained in treating both single-incident and complex trauma. Using evidence-based, nervous-system-informed approaches, we support clients in reclaiming their sense of self, power, and safety. Trauma therapy at Health Hope Harmony is always paced with care, centered on your consent, and never focused on “fixing” you—because you are not broken.

We support healing from:

  • Complex trauma and relational trauma

  • PTSD and C-PTSD

  • Dissociation, hypervigilance, emotional numbness

  • Somatic symptoms and nervous system dysregulation

We use approaches such as:

  • Parts work / IFS-informed care

  • Polyvagal and somatic strategies

  • Narrative and attachment-based therapy

  • EMDR

Anxiety Therapy

When your thoughts won’t slow down, we help you soften them

Anxiety is exhausting—and often invisible. Anxiety can show up as overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or physical symptoms. Whether you're experiencing generalized anxiety, social anxiety, or panic, our therapists offer tools for calming your nervous system and untangling the beliefs that keep you stuck in fight-or-flight.

We help with:

  • Generalized anxiety

  • Panic attacks and panic disorder

  • Social anxiety and performance anxiety

  • OCD-related concerns (if relevant)

  • High-functioning anxiety and burnout

Therapy focuses on:

  • Understanding root causes, not just symptom control

  • Nervous system regulation tools (breathwork, grounding, etc.)

  • Rewriting patterns of overworking, overthinking, and overgiving

Depression Therapy

You don’t have to “get it together”—you get to be held together

Depression can make everything feel too heavy: daily tasks, relationships, hope. We create a soft landing where you can be supported without needing to “perform wellness.”

If you’re feeling heavy, hopeless, or numb, we’re here to help. Our approach to depression therapy combines gentle curiosity with practical tools to help you reconnect to your inner resilience. We’ll meet you where you are, whether you’re overwhelmed, burned out, or just tired of pretending everything’s fine.

Common experiences we work with:

  • Low mood, low motivation

  • Irritability, shame, or numbness

  • Isolation or loss of interest

  • Suicidal thoughts (non-crisis and supported with safety planning)

  • Post-burnout emotional flatness

In therapy we’ll:

  • Gently explore underlying beliefs and life patterns

  • Help you rebuild self-trust, joy, and connection

  • Work at your pace—no “toxic positivity” or pressure

Postpartum Mental Health

Support for the raw, real postpartum experience

Parenthood brings both joy and grief, and postpartum support should hold space for the full range of it. We provide nonjudgmental care for parents navigating the many challenges of this season. The postpartum season can be tender, complex, and lonely. Whether you’re navigating birth trauma, identity shifts, intrusive thoughts, or the emotional rollercoaster of new parenthood, we offer a space where you can be seen and supported—without judgment, pressure, or shame.

We support clients experiencing:

  • Postpartum anxiety, depression, OCD

  • Birth trauma and medical trauma

  • Identity confusion and role transitions

  • Rage, shame, or “not bonding” fears

  • Returning to work, partner conflict, sleep deprivation

Our approach includes:

  • Normalizing your experience—no topic is off limits

  • Flexible scheduling and telehealth options

  • Support for all types of parents (including non-birthing partners)
